Chris Cuomo Shares Heartbreaking News That His Wife Has the Coronavirus
Two weeks after Chris Cuomo announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus, his wife now has it.
The CNN news anchor shared the news on Cuomo Prime Time on Wednesday in an interview with his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “Cristina now has COVID. She is now positive, and it just breaks my heart,” Chris said. “It is the one thing I was hoping wouldn’t happen and now it has.”
Although he’s probably feeling guilty because she most likely contracted the virus while nursing him, the 49-year-old assured that his wife is “not upset.” “She lost her sense of smell and taste. Anecdotally, the cases I hear that are more mild tend to have that,” Chris said.
Following the virtual interview, Chris Cuomo took to Twitter to open up about his wife’s diagnosis. “Families all over know the reality our family faces: few are one case and done. Sure enough, Cristina has COVID now. Kids are still healthy but this shook us at our literal core. All are stepping up. Can’t wait to shake this fever so I can help her as she helped me. Sucks.”
Chris has been married to his wife Cristina for 19 years. They shared three children together: Bella, 17, Mario, 14, and Carolina, 11.
