Welcome to Chart Brief, Rated R&B’s weekly column tracking the latest movements across R&B charts. Each week, we’ll break down and analyze the R&B artists making waves on the Billboard, radio, and streaming charts. This edition covers the charts dated Oct. 3, 2026.
Billboard Charts: Adult R&B Airplay
Sentury has ascended to the top of the Adult R&B Airplay chart with their track “Don’t Mind,” displacing Beyoncé’s “Morning Dew (Donk).” This achievement marks the third time the Houston-based quartet has claimed the No. 1 position, building on the success of previous hits “Forever” and “Only Human.”
R&B Streaming Songs
Michael Jackson’s iconic “Billie Jean” has returned to the top of the R&B Streaming Songs chart, marking its 19th week in the lead. The song reclaimed its position after a brief stint at the top by Jhené Aiko’s “So Good,” which features Kendrick Lamar.
Hot 100 and Industry Milestones
In a notable industry development, Earth, Wind & Fire’s timeless anthem “September” has re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 45. This marks the track’s first appearance on the chart since 1979, when it originally peaked at No. 8. The resurgence is driven by an annual seasonal streaming surge, resulting in 6 million U.S. streams and 3.3 million radio airplay impressions during the tracking week ending September 24.
Top R&B Albums
Jhené Aiko continues to dominate the album charts with Westside Whimsy, which holds the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B Albums list for a second consecutive week.

Mediabase Radio Charts: R&B Radio
Sentury maintains its stronghold on R&B radio, securing the No. 1 position for the second week in a row with “Don’t Mind.” The radio rankings, which track total weekly spins from September 20 through September 26, reflect a competitive landscape with Kehlani’s “Folded” and October London’s “Silent Treatment” rounding out the top three.
