Young Thug Releases First Verse Since Jail Release, Addresses RICO Case

Young Thug finally addressed his RICO case on a newly released track. Lil Baby dropped his fourth studio album, WHAM, on Friday (Jan. 3), clocking in at 15 songs long. One of the LP’s early standout tracks, “Dum, Dumb, & Dumber,” featured Thug and Future as they flexed on their oppositions and dove into some real sh*t. Specifically, Thug used the Wheezy-produced track to briefly discuss his two-year jail stint and flex his lifestyle.

Y”eah, ni**a, King Spider back/ I don’t even believe I was locked up, for real, for real/ I was havin’ my way the whole time, fool, you know what I’m sayin’?” he said during the interlude.

“Two Lamb’ coupes, four Lamb’ trucks/ Pullin’ up, what the f**k?/ Neck, wrist, fingers slush/ Order hundred G’s, that’s us/ New Rolls Cullinan truck/ Dog on the side like a bus/ Shawty mad, ain’t goin’ back and forth/ Never heard a rich ni**a fuss/ Heard these ni**as going out sad/ ‘Rari truck came with a bag,” Thugga rapped.

Young Thug previously spent two years in jail after he was detained in a high-profile YSL RICO case. He was finally released in October 2024 after he pled no contest to the multitude of charges laid out against him, including racketeering and gang charges, and being found guilty on drug, gun, and another lesser gang charge.

“I take full responsibility for my crimes, for my charges. I want to say sorry to my family, my mom… I am a smart guy, I am a good guy, and I really got a good heart, you know. I find myself in a lot of stuff because I was just nice or cool,” Thugger told the judge during his final appearance in court. “I hope that you allow me to go home today and trust in me to do the right thing… I promise you I won’t ever be in this type of situation again.”
