Saweetie Is Pool Party Perfect In “NANi” Official Music Video
Saweetie sets the tone for summer fun in the “NANi” music video. In the visual, directed by Chandler Lass, the rapper hosts the ultimate pool party, inviting dozens of baddies for endless fun. Saweetie takes the party to the water for a splash-filled twerk session, and continues to show her dancing skills with bouncy choreography.
The dance-ready track, produced by Jean-Baptiste, Karl Rubin, Shawn Wasabi, Ryland Blackington, and Ryan Buendia, finds inspiration in Lady Gaga’s viral interview where she describes a non-stop, “no sleep” night on the town.
“Plane, sprinter, glam, to the club, backdoor section, shots, another club/ Two shows, one night, what’s that a hunnid plus,” raps the ICY GIRL performer in the “NANi” prehook.
“‘NANi’ isn’t just a track; it’s the soundtrack to a good time,” detailed the Grammy-nominated musician in a statement.
“This track def gives MAIN CHARACTER energy! <3 This single has been a labor of love>
Last week, Saweetie was honored with the first Billboard Gold Music Award at the Gold House annual Gold Gala, placing her on the 2024 A100 list. The event, the largest and most-viewed Asian Pacific gathering in the nation, recognized Saweetie for her boundary-pushing musical accomplishments that redefine cultural narratives. The “Richtivities” rapper closed the event with a special performance, ahead of a headlining set by Grammy-nominated DJ Steve Aoki.
The University of Southern California graduate was also recognized on the A100 list in 2023.
“NANi” comes after a well-paced 2024 for Saweetie. Earlier this year, the West Coast representative released the pretty bi**h theme song “Richtivities,” as well as collaborated with Indian actor/singer Diljit on “Khutti.” Additional drops this year include the “Immortal” freestyle, and the “DO IT FOR THE BAY” collaboration with P-Lo.
Continuing to expand her icy empire beyond music, the 30-year-old also recently guest-starred in an episode of STARZ’s hit series BMF and served as a mentor on NBC’s The Voice.
