LL COOL J And Eminem Team Up For The First Time With “Murdergram Deux” Music Video
LL COOL J and Eminem released a music video for their first-ever musical collaboration, “Murdergram Deux,” on Wednesday (Sept. 11).
In the JakeTheShooter-directed visual, LL and Em take Hip-Hop heads down memory lane with a few nostalgic scenes, including a recreation of the Queens MC’s 1987 Bigger and Deffer (BAD) album cover and of the fishbowl scene from his ’87 “Going Back to Cali” video. Elsewhere in the production, Eminem pays homage to Big Daddy Kane’s Long Live the Kane album cover.
On the Q-Tip produced track, LL raps: “Give blessings to my disciples, professional I’m a sniper/ Like eight miles away, me and Marshall doing murders/ With dirty burners, break them down and melt them in the furnace,” as Em comes in with the bridge: “Unapologetic and we’re gonna cause a headache/ Me and L about to set it, we about to murdergram it/ Anyone of y’all can get it, so you might as well forget it.”
“Murdergram Deux” helms from LL COOL J’s latest album The Force, which is his first full-length studio album since Authentic in 2013. The original “Murdergram” track lives on LL’s 1990 album Mama Said Knock You Out.
Upon the reimagined track with Eminem, an unfinished version of the song was allegedly leaked earlier this year, which the 56-year-old addressed in a June interview with Raymond T.
“It’s not A.I., but it’s not official. It’s not official, it’s not the right version,” he explained. “People just walk all in the kitchen, touching the rolls before they’re done — you know, how your grandmother slaps your hand when you try to check the pots early. It’s not A.I. — it’s a real joint.”
LL officially released The Force on Friday (Sept. 6) with musical assistance from Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Saweetie, Nas and more.
