Charlie Wilson Tops Billboard Adult R&B Chart With Latest Single, “Superman”

Charlie Wilson continues his reign as one of R&B’s most successful men with his latest single, “Superman,” jumping to No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B chart.

“I am incredibly grateful and humbled by the overwhelming support for ‘Superman’,” said the crooner in a statement of the feat. “To have another #1 hit on the Billboard Adult R&B chart is truly an important achievement to me, especially with a song so personal highlighting my wife’s endless love and support of me. She truly put the cape back on my back after very rough times. I want to thank my fans for their unwavering loyalty and love throughout my career. This song is also for all women, their strength, love and support is appreciated more than they know.”

As mentioned, “Superman” is an empowering, soul-stirring track dedicated to Wilson’s wife. He credits her as to why he has superhero-esque abilities.

Michael Paran, founder and CEO of P Music Group and Wilson’s longtime manager, added, “This milestone is a testament to Charlie’s exceptional talent. I’m incredibly proud of him, along with the P Music Group promotions team for their hard work. We’re honored to be part of Charlie’s journey and take immense pride in his continued success.”

Wilson made history in August 2022 after becoming Billboard’s top solo male R&B artist with the most No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. The single that earned him these bragging rights was “No Stoppin’ Us” featuring Babyface, K-Ci and Johnny Gill. That historic collaboration also marked the first time a song topped the chart with four credited artists.

Of the milestone, the “Blessed” singer noted, “[The chart] has changed so much over the years that I had to do a double take seeing our song on top with Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, and Lizzo. Despite the odds, there really is no stoppin’ us O.G.’s.”
