Bryant Barnes Announces Debut Album ‘Solace,’ Shares ‘Priceless’
Rising alt-R&B sensation Bryant Barnes has revealed his debut album, SOLACE, releases Oct. 17 via Mercury Records.
The 22-year-old took to Instagram to unveil the album cover, which shows him standing outside of a small church beneath the stars with his palms open, eyes closed, at peace.
“18 SONGS OF PURE VULNERABILITY. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED ME PUT THIS TOGETHER,” he wrote in the caption.
SOLACE will include the previously shared tracks “I’d Rather Pretend” and “Two Sides of Goodbye,” as well as the latest single “Priceless.”
The latter ballad brims with emotion as Barnes expresses his longing for an endless love, one that’s more fulfilling than anything money can buy.
“You’re one of one, can’t be replaced / Ooh, I want you for life,” he croons over lush instrumentation, produced by Rykeyz.
SOLACE follows Barnes’ debut EP, VANITY, which also included the breakout hit “I’d Rather Pretend” and other popular tracks, such as “Don’t Want a Love Song” and “Give Me A Sign.”
Barnes is currently supporting alt singer d4vd on his Withered Tour. The two have an upcoming collaboration on SOLACE, “It’s You,” which will mark their second time appearing on the same track since their “I’d Rather Pretend (Remix).”
“I’ve been wanting to work with d4vd for a while, even when he first began music, because growing up, he lived like 10 minutes away from me in my hometown,” said Barnes. “So it really just made a lot of sense to collaborate and I’m glad that we’re able to get on ‘I’d Rather Pretend’ together.”
