SZA, Tiffany Evans, NAO, And More New R&B For The Weekend
2024 has places to be and so do we causing this week in R&B to be concise.
Most artists are planning or packing, but SZA, Tiffany Evans, Chase Shakur, Nao, Jahkoy, and Tink are all gifting fans some last-minute reminders to remain top of mind. SZA dropped her highly-anticipated follow-up to her Grammy-winning album, SOS as the other acts shared new singles. Tink’s release is a surprise EP appropriately titled Lost Pages.
Enjoy the final new R&B roundup of 2024 and we’ll see you in 2025 with more new tunes.
SZA – LANA (SOS Deluxe)
After countless delays over the past year, including last-minute ones in the past 24 hours, LANA is finally here. The deluxe installment of SZA’s SOS is centered around the focus track, “Drive,” but we’re obsessed with “30 For 30” featuring Kendrick Lamar and the “Voyage To Atlantis” sample on “Kitchen.” Other new tracks include “Kitchen,” “Scorsese Baby Daddy,” “Love Me 4 Me,” “No More Hiding,” and the Grammy-nominated “Saturn.”
Tiffany Evans – “Reset”
Tiffany Evans is pressing the reset button and restarting on her own terms. It’s been seven years since her last solo single and with “Reset,” she’s gotten her “fresh start.”
“This isn’t just a song to me…it’s a moment,” Evans said on Instagram of the soul-stirring ballad. She described it as “a moment to pause, reclaim yourself, and move forward with confidence,” adding, “Whether you see it as love, growth, or healing, this is your reminder—YOU deserve a fresh start.”
This is a taste of what’s to come from the songbird in the new year.
Nao – “All Of Me”
Nao isn’t slowing down when it comes to her Jupiter rollout. We’re roughly two months out from the long-awaited release and Nao is giving us her all.
Produced by PRGRSHN, the record is a sensual take on the plans she has with the lover she’s obsessed with. “You’re closer than I’ve ever been, oh no/ It don’t get no better than this/ Everything I’m fantasizing, you know just where my mind is/ All day, sideways, your way, my way,” she sings on the pre-chorus.
It joins previously-released tracks like “Wildflowers” and “Elevate.”
Chase Shakur – “FOCUS ON ME”
Chase Shakur debuted a new single, “FOCUS ON ME,” from his upcoming album, WONDERLOVE.
On the surface, the record is seductively sweet, but it also spotlights the anxiety that stems from one demanding attention from their partner, especially in a long-distance relationship. It’s a little something for the lover boys out there who need to soundtrack their frustrations.
Tink – Lost Pages
Tink dropped her surprise EP, Lost Pages, which is a collection of hit tunes that weren’t released on streaming until now. The project includes viral TikTok sounds like “Don’t Tell Nobody” with Jeremih and “Mine” featuring G Herbo as well as “Commitment,” “Home,” and “Sounds Good.”
Jahkoy – “Stay With Me”
Before the year ends, Jahkoy took a moment to gift fans a surprise release. “Stay With Me” is described as his “soft launch” to inform fans that he’ll be back with new music in 2025. Produced by himself, the soothing tune details how important his lady is as he begs for her love. It’s the begging R&B we missed minus the singing in the rain.
