North West Makes Directorial Debut With “TALKING” Music Video
Everyone’s bestie, “Miss Westie,” has made her directorial debut. North West, Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign delivered the music video for “TALKING” on Tuesday (April 20).
The video features Northie living it up with her friends as they vibe to the track. The young creative can be seen seated at a dinner table and then riding in a foreign sports car. Shades of grey and Black permeate throughout the video, coloring everything from the clothing to the smoky, dimly lit basketball court and boxing ring. A cute moment also captures Ye doing boxing exercises with his daughter. And, of course, Ms. West performs her viral verse from the Vultures 1 album.
“I love it here/ We gonna take over the year for another year/ It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie/ Don’t tryna test me/ It’s gonna get messy/ It’s gonna get messy/ Just, just bless me/ Bless me/ It’s your bestie, Miss, Miss Westie/ Just tryna bless me/ Just bless me, bless me,” she sings with a youthful exuberance.
The second half of the video then shifts to Ty and Ye. They both recite their verses from “Once Again.” Ty appears after a brief shot of an ominous vulture shrouded in darkness. The singer is dressed in Black as he sings about protecting his daughter. He also seems to be speaking for himself and Ye as the fashion designer appears towards the song’s end, echoing his sentiments.
“How much to stop my daughter from growin’? I just can’t take it now/ ‘Cause she just doing all the sh*t I did when I was her age/ I don’t know how I’m gonna tell her, but her dad’s just afraid/ Of her choices, know that I’ve been through it/ I just hope I haven’t been the wrong influence/ Put her on game before the world put her through it,” Ty sings.
North West’s directorial debut marks a significant turn in the creative’s young career. She recently revealed that she is currently working on her debut album, Elementary School Dropout. The album plays on her father’s 2004 classic, The College Dropout. In March, Jazlyn “Jazzy” Guerra of Jazzy’s World TV internet fame interviewed the young Kardashian at Rolling Loud. She asked North when fans could expect to receive her debut album, to which she bluntly responded, “I don’t know.” Jazzy also asked if the LP would feature her father, and she used some mystery to build excitement. “Maybe,” she said. “We don’t know yet!”
