Toronto Emcee Top5 Charged As Accessory To Murder In January Shooting

According to a Yahoo News report, Toronto native Hassan Ali, who is better known as rapper Top5, has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of a 20-year-old man last month in Ontario.

Top5 has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact for the shooting of Hashim Omar Ali on January 31. On top of the murder charges, Top5 was also charged with two counts of failure to comply with probation as well as three counts for drug possession with trafficking purposes. 

Top5’s attorney John Silver maintained his client’s innocence, stating, “There’s still a lot of information surrounding this that we’re unaware of,” adding, “At this time, we’re still awaiting basic information surrounding this event and Mr. Ali’s involvement if any,” 

The Toronto rapper is scheduled to appear in court February 16.
