Tank Announces New Album ‘Experience’
R&B veteran Tank returns with his 11th studio album, ‘Experience,’ set for a September 25 release via R&B Money/BMG.
It appears that Tank has had a change of heart regarding his retirement from the studio. The R&B General has officially announced his 11th studio album, EXPERIENCE, which is slated for release on September 25 via R&B Money/BMG. This highly anticipated project marks a new chapter for the artist, who previously suggested that his 2022 effort, R&B Money, would be his final full-length release.
The artist took to Instagram to unveil the striking cover art, which features him shirtless inside a clear box, suspended above a pool of water. He shared the news with his 2.1 million followers, writing, “‘EXPERIENCE’ Album Preorder NOW!.. R&B MONEY.”
The 16-track collection is set to feature the No. 1 R&B radio hit “Control” and the top 10 single “Yes,” which cleverly interpolates Floetry’s classic “Say Yes.” Fans can also expect collaborations on the project, including the house-influenced track “Highlight” featuring Charlie Wilson and DJ/producer MK, as well as “How I Need You,” which features Kirk Franklin, Eric Dawkins, and Zacardi Cortez.
Regarding the sonic direction of his new album, Tank exclusively told Rated R&B, “EXPERIENCE is exactly what the title says it is. I pushed myself on this one, stepping into dance, gospel, country, sounds people might not expect from me. There are so many different sides of me on this album; you really have to experience it yourself. After 30 years, I’m still growing, still finding new ways to connect with people.”
Beyond his musical endeavors, Tank has been expanding his footprint in acting. Following his 2025 Broadway debut in Alicia Keys’ musical Hell’s Kitchen, he is set to appear in the fourth season of the Hulu legal drama Reasonable Doubt, premiering October 6. Despite these ventures, his commitment to music remains steadfast as he continues to support the R&B Tour: Raymond & Brown alongside Chris Brown and Usher.
