Tanerélle Signs to Republic Records, Shares New EP ‘Electric Honey’
Rising R&B singer Tanerélle has landed a deal with Republic Records. The Atlanta native joins a roster that includes Ariana Grande, Daniel Caesar, Drake, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, The Weeknd, and more.
“After 8 years of being an independent artist, I finally found a safe space to continue evolving & spreading love through my art, a space that’s not trying to change me but amplify and elevate my world and my mission,” Tanerélle wrote on Instagram.
“I genuinely don’t have the words to express what I’m feeling right now, but I’m so grateful to my family, friends & my team who’ve believed in me, poured into me, loved on me & kept me going all the times I felt overlooked, outcasted, used and absolutely wanted to throw in the towel….& to all the supporters who took a chance on me and pressed play.”
Ken Jarvis, Republic’s senior director of A&R, told Billboard, “Tanerélle is a forward-thinking artist with a well-defined vision, sonically and aesthetically. Working with an artist who is as ambitious, intelligent and intentional as Tanerélle is a joy. I am excited for the levels we will reach with our partnership as we continue to foster her talents.”
In addition to her new label home announcement, Tanerélle has also released her new EP, Electric Honey. The eight-track project was preceded by the singles “Better Days” and “Let Me In.” The EP also features singer Sabrina Claudio and Maryland rapper Foggieraw.
For production, Tanerélle collaborated with Slimwav, Jesse Boykins III, Midi Jones, Dazy, Machinedrum, and more.
The Dazy-helmed “Blink” is among the EP’s highlights. Here, Tanerélle tries to decipher symbolism in her dreams as the world around her continues on. “I keep having dreams where I start to scream / But no one hears a thing / Paintings start to sing, wonder what they mean,” she sings.
“Welp, my EP Electric Honey is finally out in the world,” Tanerélle wrote on Instagram. “I am deeply grateful for every creative soul that lent their minds & gifts to this project & helped to create a sanctuary for softness & vulnerability. It has been a privilege & an honor working heart in heart with all of you & so much dang fun creating a world with no sonic limits.”
