SiR Announces ‘The Bad Karma Tour’ Dates
Grammy-nominated R&B singer and songwriter SiR has unveiled the dates for his headlining Bad Karma Tour.
His Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) labelmate Zacari will join him as a special guest.
The 18-city trek kicks off July 23 in Silver Spring, Maryland, at The Fillmore. From there, SiR will make stops in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Toronto, Atlanta and San Francisco, before wrapping up Aug 21 in Los Angeles at Hollywood Palladium.
Presale tickets for The Bad Karma Tour will be available Thursday, April 4. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m. local time.
The Bad Karma Tour is in support of SiR’s fourth album, Heavy, which was released March 22 via TDE. The 16-track album includes the singles “Satisfaction,” “Life Is Good” featuring Scribz Riley, “Nothing Even Matters,” “No Evil” and “Karma” featuring Isaiah Rashad.
Heavy includes additional features from Ty Dolla $ign, Anderson .Paak, and Ab-Soul.
As the album’s title suggests, Heavy is laden with deeply personal songs that were written while SiR was battling addiction, depression, anxiety and more. When asked about how it felt to unleash his burdens into the music, SiR told Rated R&B: “It’s very gratifying, but I’m still going through it as we speak. I’ll have a better answer for you after the tour — after I sing these songs in every city and have a chance to really let go because I’m still holding on [to] a lot. I’m working through things as they come.
While the album does take a visit to a dark time, it’s bookmarked by more optimistic songs, such as the above-mentioned “Life Is Good” and the closing track “Brighter,” to name a couple. SiR told Rated R&B that it was important for him to include these sort of songs on the album because they reflect his current chapter in life.
“Towards the end of the creative process, the songs stopped sounding so heavy [and] a lot lighter,” SiR shared with Rated R&B in an interview. “That’s the direction that I’m going in my life. This is about overcoming. The pain is visible, but I made it through the pain. I want people to see that first and foremost. I’m definitely on the other side of everything.”
Heavy debuted at No. 12 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. See the tour dates below.
