Rihanna, JAY-Z, and Jack Dorsey Link Up for $6 Million Coronavirus Relief Fund
Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, Jack Dorsey’s #StartSmall, and JAY-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation have joined forces to launch a coronavirus relief fund.
The three foundations announced the giveback today, with funds equaling over $6.2 million. As per a press release on the grants, it has been said that the funds will go towards “protecting and serving marginalized populations” all over the United States, but with a focus on New York, New Orleans, and Puerto Rico.
Locally, the fund will provide grants to Give Directly to help support financially unstable families affected by the pandemic, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City to support domestic violence victims, and the Covenant House New Orleans to provide shelter and other necessary goods to the homeless.
Other initiatives assisted by the fund include the Second Harvest Foodbank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana, Total Community Action, and the Hispanic Federation. The joint effort will also go towards initiatives internationally, including Doctors Without Borders, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, Direct Relief, and Team Humanity.
Rihanna, Dorsey, and JAY-Z have all already made contributions during this difficult time in addition to this very generous donation.
