Marsha Ambrosius Sets Release Date for New Album ‘Casablanco’

Marsha Ambrosius has a new album coming this summer.

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has announced her new album, Casablanco, will release June 28 via Aftermath/Interscope Records.

The album will be made available digitally as well as on CD and vinyl. Fans can pre-order signed CDs on Interscope’s official website and signed gold vinyls on Amazon.

The 11-track project, produced by Dr. Dre, is preceded by the singles “The Greatest” and “One Night Stand.”

Ambrosius first teased Casablanco nearly four years ago. “I just finished recording an album with Dr. Dre ‘Casablanco’ I had an amazing time!! This is some of my best work!!!” Ambrosius wrote in an Instagram post in December 2021.

Casablanco is the follow-up to Ambrosius’ 2018 album, Nyla. The album included production by Harmony Samuels, The Stereotypes, Focus and more.

Speaking on Nyla, Ambrosius explained, “I had a lot of pent up energy, and channeling all of the energy into the music is what helped save my sanity. Poems turned into melodies and then a bunch of songs, which was like my personal therapy in a sense.

“From beginning to end, it’s me letting go of everything I wanted to let go of in my life and experiencing things all over again through Nyla’s eyes.”

In other news, Ambrosius performed at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia over the weekend. The star-studded festival also included performances by Jill Scott, Lil Wayne, André 3000, and many more.

Earlier last month, Ambrosius performed at the 9th annual Black Music Honors in Atlanta. The ceremony will air on June 19 at 9 p.m. ET on Bounce TV.
