John Legend Announces ‘Get Lifted’ 20th Anniversary World Tour Dates

John Legend will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Get Lifted, with a commemorative tour.
The Get Lifted 20th Anniversary World Tour will visit over 40 cities across the U.K., Europe and North America. The kicks off in the U.K. on May 27 at OVO Hydro in Glasgow. From there, Legend will play in Manchester, London, and Paris, among other cities.
Later in the summer, the tour will arrive in North America with two shows in Chicago on Aug. 23 and Aug. 24. Legend will make extra stops in Los Angeles, Houston, New Orleans, New York, Toronto and more before concluding Dec. 9 in Oakland.
Presale tickets for the U.K./Europe will be available Wednesday (March 19), with tickets going on sale to the general public Friday (March 21). North American presales begin Wednesday, March 26, followed by general on-sale Friday, March 28.
According to press materials, Legend’s Get Lifted 20th Anniversary World Tour “will showcase a set list celebrating the entirety of Get Lifted.” Additionally, Legend, who will be backed by his full band, will sprinkle in some of his hits from subsequent albums and eras.
Legend recorded Get Lifted from 2001 to 2004 before releasing it on his 26th birthday (Dec. 28, 2004) via GOOD Music/Columbia Records.
The album, co-written entirely by Legend, reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Further, it spawned the Grammy-winning hit “Ordinary People,” which reached No. 24 on the Hot 100, plus “Used to Love U,” “Number One” and “So High.”
At the 48th Grammy Awards in 2005, Legend was nominated for eight awards and won three trophies: Best R&B Album, Best Male R&B Vocal Performance (“Ordinary People”) and Best New Artist.
Legend embarked on his first headlining tour, Get Lifted Tour, in the summer of 2005. He was joined by Lyfe Jennings. The tour featured special guests Common, De La Soul, Rahzel, DJ JS-1, and Lyfe Jennings on select dates.
In late 2024, Legend reissued Get Lifted digitally with a 20th anniversary edition featuring 11 bonus tracks, including remixes, rare B-sides, and two previously unreleased studio performances recorded during the original Get Lifted sessions (“Do What I Gotta Do” and “Just In Time”).
The remixes included features from Tems, Lil Wayne, Killer Mike, Simi, and Black Thought. The 3LP vinyl for Get Lifted (20th Anniversary) was released March 7.

“I’m so thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of the album that introduced me to the world,” Legend said. “Get Lifted has always meant so much to me and to so many of my fans and supporters. I’m so grateful for the career that this album launched. These last 20 years have taken me far beyond my wildest dreams.”
Regarding the expanded 20th anniversary edition, Legend shared, “Revisiting the original album and some of the unreleased songs from that era has been such a meaningful experience. Reinvigorating the music with fresh remixes and collaborations featuring some of my favorite artists makes this celebration even more special.”

In other news, Legend will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight (March 18), where he will chat with the host and perform “Used to Love U” with Black Thought, backed by The Roots.
