Jawan Harris Signs to Epic Records, Releases ‘Always on My Mind’

Jawan Harris, now performing simply as Jawan, has officially entered a new chapter of his career by signing a deal with Epic Records. This move places him on a prestigious roster that includes industry heavyweights such as Chris Brown, Givēon, Mariah the Scientist, Tyla, Future, and 21 Savage.

To celebrate the announcement, Jawan has released a fresh take on the 1994 SWV classic, “You’re Always on My Mind,” featuring the R&B group Sis. Reflecting on the significance of the track, Jawan noted, “Flavors come from different, you know, angles of R&B… It’s like people were creating and making R&B that felt like you’re listening to a completely new genre.”

While Jawan’s rendition remains faithful to the original, the track highlights the vocal synergy between him and the trio. Jawan takes on the pre-chorus, a nod to the song’s original producer, Brian Alexander Morgan. The release serves as a promising reintroduction for the artist, building anticipation for his upcoming original material.

This latest release follows Jawan’s notable appearance on 21 Savage’s “I Wish,” featured on the rapper’s 2025 album, What Happened To The Streets? Regarding that collaboration, Jawan shared, “Initially, it was supposed to be just a demo. Pretty much they ended up loving the record, and they kept me on it.”

Jawan’s journey in the music industry is extensive. He previously formed the duo Jawan x Tiffany alongside Tiffany Evans, releasing several singles between 2020 and 2023. Before that, he was a member of the R&B trio History In The Making, which released their debut EP, H.I.T.M., in 2015. A former teen sensation, Jawan first gained widespread attention in 2010 with his debut single, “Another Planet,” which featured Chris Brown. Beyond his musical endeavors, he also made a mark in film, starring as Timothy in the 2012 hit Pitch Perfect.
