Derek Chauvin’s Murder Trial For George Floyd’s Death To Be Televised

According to a recent report from Deadline.com, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial for killing George Floyd will be aired on live television. Chauvin has been charged with manslaughter and second degree murder.

The report states that Chauvin’s trial will be televised on CourtTV as well as on PeacockTV’s Law and Crime.

Minneapolis City Councilman Phillipe Cunningham said via statement, “This trial is more than just about Derek Chauvin. It is about policing and public safety and how fundamentally flawed it is in the United States.”

A spokesperson for the Minneapolis PD stated that the police are preparing for uprisings from goth sides based on the outcome.  “We had a great deal of civil unrest last year, and it was a level of violence and unrest that this city has never seen. In law enforcement, you plan for the worst and hope for the best. We owe it to the residents, businesses, and visitors to have a plan in place.”
