SZA Shares Eminem “Lose Yourself” Cover “For Mental Health”

SZA adds her personal touch to a Hip-Hop classic in a new social media upload. On Thursday night (May 30), the R&B singer took to Instagram to share a cover of Eminem‘s 2002 hit “Lose Yourself.” In her post, the Grammy-winning singer detailed how her performance of the rap song is not for any commercial purposes.

“U ever just cover Eminem on some tender sh*t for feels?” questioned the 34-year-old. She continued to detail in the caption, “Not on a project Just for mental health.”

The comment section filled with compliments on SZA’s version of the Grammy-winning record from fans and celebrities including Camilla Cabello, Questlove, Shelley FKA DRAM, and more. Eminem himself even dropped the shocked-face emoji.

The easy-listening cover comes as SZA fans await new music from the record-breaking musician. In March, the “Broken Clocks” singer gave an update on the anticipated SOS Deluxe version, as well as additional unreleased tracks.

“Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks,” SZA explained. “I’ll be starting ‘Lana’ from scratch. Do not ask me about it again… I’ll round up the leaks y’all already got and u can have those. Seems like a fair deal. ENJOY.”

Additionally, the “Snooze” performer confirmed the deluxe version of SOS is set to feature “the leaks and outtakes,” adding “‘Lana’ deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before.”

Since S.O.S. dropped in December 2022, SZA has released the solo track “Saturn.” She has also been featured with Hip-Hop acts, including two songs with Drake, “Slime You Out,” and “Rich Baby Daddy,” which also features Sexyy Red. She also joined Flo Milli and Cardi B on the “Never Lose Me” remix.

Outside of rap and R&B at the top of the year, SZA promised fans a collaboration with Paramore, due soon.
