Method Man’s Daughter, Cheyenne, Embarks On Rap Career With New Music Video

Method Man‘s family is proving that a talent for entertainment runs through their bloodline. The rapper’s daughter, Cheyenne Smith, has launched a music career of her own. Smith, who raps under the name “Chey,” has released two songs this year, the most recent being “Boujee & Ghetto.”

Accompanied by a video that finds her pulling up to her father’s Staten Island stomping grounds in a luxury whip, “Boujee & Ghetto” was released on Feb. 21 and builds upon her previous drop, “Hair and Nails,” a drill-influenced drop that arrived in January.

According to Chey, she has no intentions on relying solely on her father’s connections or stature within the industry, choosing instead to hit the pavement and build her name on her own merit. “A lot of people would say [that he could just make a call and put me on], but at the end of the day, you gotta put in the work,” she said during an interview with Shaoliiin Entertainment.

“He could do that but he’d rather see me work for it and really push, but he’s gonna support one thousand gajillion trillion percent. But he wants to see the work, too.”

Chey is just the latest of multiple children from the Wu-Tang family to embark on their own musical careers. Sun God, Ghostface Killah’s son, and Young Dirty Bastard, the son of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, have both appeared alongside their fathers on songs, as well as other Wu-Tang releases.
