Marques Houston Kicks Off Next Music Chapter With New Video, “Admit It”

Marques Houston is ready for his next era of music.

Two years after his last album, the crooner has returned with a visual for his latest single, “Admit It.” He dropped the new release in late January, but revealed that the music video is the first from his upcoming project, The Best Worst Year Ever.

“This one is special to me,” said Houston, 42 on Instagram. He explained that not only is he releasing a new album, but also an accompanying documentary that’s “super personal” because “it deals with the realness of my career from start to now.”

The father of two continued, “All the good, bad, and ugly. The sacrifices and decisions, the hard work and dedication that has led me to where I am now. I am beyond grateful and thankful to all of you who continue to support me and my journey whether it be on or off the screen.”

He went on to thank DJs for “holding me down in the clubs” as well as his “true fans,” adding, “You’re the reason I continue to strive to push myself, reinvent, and improve as an artist! My passion and drive is for you all!”

Houston also thanked his wife, Miya, and their two children, Zara and Greyson—whom he called his “motivation.” He credited his “business partner and day one” Chris Stokes as the one who “continues to push me beyond what I even know I’m capable of.” The “Circles” crooner concluded the post by stating that a tour would follow the release of his album.

His last album, ME, arrived in February 2022 after a nine-year hiatus. The subsequent EP, Me: Dark Water, came that November.
