Havoc Announces New Mobb Deep Music Is “Coming Soon”

Havoc has announced that he’s currently in the process of working on new Mobb Deep music, which will include production by longtime collaborator The Alchemist.

On Monday (July 15), the Queensbridge native took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, uploading a clip of himself and The Alchemist hard at work in the studio. “R.I.P Prodigy,” said Havoc, as an instrumental, presumably created by The Alchemist, can be heard blaring from the studio’s speakers. “You see Al in the background, you already know what it is. Mobb Deep coming soon, baby. Infinite.”

Word of the announcement soon spread across social media, with fans of the legendary duo rejoicing at the thought of not only hearing new music from Mobb Deep, but unreleased verses from late group member Prodigy being unveiled.

“Havoc from Mobb Deep just posted on insta that’s he’s in the studio with Alchemist working on some new Mobb Deep music,” one social media user wrote. “Which means there are still unreleased Prodigy verses.”

However, few other details have been revealed regarding Havoc and The Alchemist’s plans for Mobb Deep moving forward, including whether the music will include unheard material from Prodigy. Yet, the latest development is yet another hint that a new album from Mobb Deep could be released, a project that has been teased in the years since Prodigy’s passing in 2017.

A little over three years ago, The Alchemist took to social media to declare that Prodigy and Havoc remain the greatest rap group in Hip-Hop, foreshadowing the release of new music from the duo was in the works. “Mobb Deep is still the best group of all time,” the hitmaker wrote back in June 2021. “Havoc & Myself might have to remind you soon.

Regarded as one of rap’s greatest pairings, Mobb Deep debuted in 1993 with Juvenile Hell and later released a string of classic albums, including 1995’s The Infamous, 1996’s Hell on Earth, and 1999’s Murda Muzik. The group’s last studio album, The Infamous Mobb Deep, was released in 2014.
