Miles Caton Signs to Columbia Records, Shares ‘Don’t Hate Me’

Actor and singer Miles Caton has officially signed a record deal with Columbia Records, joining a prestigious roster that includes artists like Beyoncé, Adele, Leon Bridges, Chlöe, and Halle.

To mark this significant milestone, the 21-year-old artist has released his major-label debut single, “Don’t Hate Me.” This piano-driven ballad, produced by JT Daly, offers a candid exploration of an imbalanced relationship, with Caton openly acknowledging his role in its complexities.

In the poignant chorus, Caton sings: “Don’t hate me / I know this heart of mine it drives you crazy / You want a promise, but I’m just a maybe / Your worst is twice the best that I can do / But baby, don’t hate me for loving you.”

“Don’t Hate Me” is accompanied by a somber music video, directed by Geoff Sean Levy, visually complementing the song’s emotional depth.

This new single follows “Somethin,” another emotional ballad that Caton independently released in July 2025.

Beyond his music career, Caton is also recognized for his acting, co-starring as Sammie Moore in Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-winning blockbuster, Sinners. The film notably features Oscar-winning actor Michael B. Jordan, who received Best Actor at the 98th Academy Awards for his dual portrayal of Smoke and Stack.

Sinners garnered multiple accolades at the same ceremony, including Best Original Screenplay for Coogler, Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson, and Best Cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw.

Caton’s individual performances were also celebrated, earning him the Outstanding Breakthrough Performance award at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards and Best Young Actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Furthermore, Caton contributed to five tracks on the Grammy-winning soundtrack for Sinners, including the notable song “I Lied to You,” co-written by Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson.
