Cardi B’s ‘Am I The Drama?’ Is Already Double Platinum

Cardi B’s latest album has already claimed coveted accolades. Am I The Drama?, released on Sept. 19, 2025, is now certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), only 10 days after its initial release. The achievement comes after the work was released at platinum status.

She achieved the feat quickly, due to the inclusion of “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and “Up,” resulting in AITD debuting with a platinum plaque. Still, Bardi Gang heavily supported the release, and the album earned the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, with a reported 200,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week.

VIBE’s Hip-Hop reporter Armon Sadler described the output as a “reminder that she’s more than just a rapper,” citing tracks including “Hello,” “Pick It Up” featuring Selena Gomez, “Safe” featuring Kehlani, and “Pretty & Petty” as some of the Grammy-winner’s best work.

“It felt like a reset,” shared the expecting mother of four with Billboard when describing this era of her life and career.

“Maybe that’s the word. I’m resetting again in my career. I took a break and I’m about to go back again. I’m about to be heavy on tour and I haven’t been heavy on the road in a long time. That’s a reset there. Then, it’s a reset on my personal life. The last time I was on the road, I had one kid. Now I have three kids. I was married, now I’m getting a divorce. I’m dating. It’s a reset on everything. Sometimes I feel like I’m 20 again. I shouldn’t feel like I’m 20. I should be feeling like I’m in my 30s and I’m settled, but I don’t feel as settled. I feel like I’m redoing things and relearning again in every aspect of life. Career and personal. So I guess we should say a reset.”
