D4vd Sees Streaming Surge After Dead Teen Girl Is Found In His Car
D4vd‘s music has seen a boost in streaming after the body of a teenage girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, was found decomposing in the trunk of his abandoned car. According to AllHipHop, the singer’s breakout song, “Romantic Homicide,” climbed to No. 8 on Spotify’s U.S. daily chart on Monday (Sept. 22).
The song was initially released in 2022 and garnered attention across TiktTok, and features the lyrics, “In the back of my mind, You died/And I didn’t even cry/ No, not a single tear.”
In addition to “Romantic Homicide,” other songs by the 20-year-old have also increased in streams, including “Feel It,” and “Here With Me.” AllHipHop also reported that D4vd reached a new peak on Spotify’s artist chart, surging to No. 42, from No. 121 on September 7, where he was ranked the day before the body was found.

Hernandez’s body was discovered in the trunk of D4vd’s car after the vehicle had been left unattended for an extended period of time in Los Angeles. Police have also searched a residence rented by the singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke.
A cause or manner of death for Hernandez has not been confirmed, and law enforcement has not named Burke a suspect; however, fans have linked him to the teenager through photos and videos.
Hernandez had been reported missing in April 2024 before the gruesome discovery. The community of Lake Elsinore, Calif., came together to honor her with a candlelight vigil earlier this weekas the investigation into her tragic death continues.
