Muni Long, Mariah the Scientist to Headline SomeKinda R&B Festival

The lineup for the inaugural SomeKinda R&B Festival has been revealed. The two-day festival is set for Aug. 30-31 at Montebello Park in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Muni Long will headline night one. Before Long takes the stage, several Canadian R&B acts will warm up the crowd, including Aqyila, TheHonestGuy, and Avenoir, among others.

“Burning Blue” singer Mariah The Scientist will close out the festival on night two. Her appearance at the event will come just days after releasing her fourth album, Hearts Sold Separately, out Aug. 22 via Epic Records. Kiana Ledé and Frvrfriday are also on the bill.

Additionally, a second stage on both days will feature cultural curators, including Somebody Anybody, DJ Killa Kels, and Tay-Jean.

The SomeKinda R&B Festival, Black-owned and majority women-led, is co-founded by Good Folkes Company, No Boundries and 925 Agency.

In a joint statement, the co-founders share, “SomeKinda is more than a festival—it’s a cultural statement. It’s about giving Canadian R&B the platform it deserves, while creating a weekend filled with soulful music, wine trails, and feel-good vibes.”

According to press materials, the festival’s mission is to “amplify Black artistry, reinvest in community, and carve out permanent space for R&B in the Canadian live music landscape—all while supporting local tourism and culture in the Niagara region.”
