Freddie Gibbs and Other Stars Labeled ‘High Risk’ by MSG
A recent report has shed light on Madison Square Garden’s controversial surveillance practices, which include tracking celebrities and assigning them risk levels.
Madison Square Garden has been keeping track of celebrities and placing them in a database based on their risk levels. According to a recent report, hundreds of high-profile figures have been monitored by the venue, with the internal list ranking them based on perceived risk and even their sexual orientation. This revelation has sparked significant public concern regarding the ethics of such surveillance practices at one of the world’s most famous arenas.
The talent database reportedly includes 40,000 entries of celebrities who have attended New York Knicks home games. Among those identified on the list are prominent rappers such as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Freddie Gibbs, DaBaby, Lil Jon, Jadakiss, and Fat Joe. While some artists like A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Freddie Gibbs have been categorized as “High Risk,” others, such as the hosts of the Joe & Jada Show, are labeled as “Medium Risk.” The report also highlights the case of Lil Tjay, who was allegedly banned from the venue following an altercation with security staff.
The news has left many of those involved feeling blindsided. Freddie Gibbs, in particular, expressed his disbelief upon learning of his inclusion in the database, questioning his connection to the venue’s internal security protocols via social media.
Beyond risk assessments, the database also categorized certain individuals under a “DO NOT HOST” label, which includes figures like Julia Fox and Pete Rock. Furthermore, the inclusion of labels based on sexual orientation—such as those applied to Phoebe Bridgers, Ricky Martin, and Emily Green—has drawn intense scrutiny. The surveillance practices, overseen by James Dolan, have raised serious questions about privacy and discrimination, particularly following reports that a trans woman named Nina Richards was tracked during a Pride Night Knicks game.
