Waka Flocka Opens Up About Being “Broke” During the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has left many people struggling. Whether it be business owners who were forced to shut down due to restrictions, or workers who lost their jobs, almost everybody was impacted by the pandemic in some way or form. Although a lot of rappers didn’t make it seem like they were struggling, they were impacted by the pandemic too. Waka Flocka recently opened up about how he was almost “broke” during the pandemic.

In a clip from an upcoming episode of Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka Waka told his mom, Ms. Deb, that he hadn’t done any shows in three months, and missed out on millions of dollars because of the pandemic. “If you don’t make money ma, technically, you don’t got money,” he said. “I lost millions,” he added. His mother suggested that he save money more money, but Waka responded, saying “I go back to zero every year, ma, and this year is not looking good.”

Before people start to say that Waka wasn’t broke the same way a lot of people who aren’t rich and famous, Waka acknowledge’s he wasn’t broke in a typical way. “My broke, people say is they rich,” he added. “But what I am gonna do is figure out new business ventures. I’m just goin’ with the wind, man. I’m going with the water, I ain’t goin’ against the ocean.”
