Tyrese’s ‘Wildflower’ Remains No. 1 for Second Week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay Chart
Tyrese’s “Wildflower” holds steady at No. 1 for a second week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
As reported previously, this soul-stirring remake of Skylark’s 1972 track marks the singer/actor’s fourth No. 1 on this chart and his first in nearly a decade.
“Wildflower” is also the second cover to reach the summit this year, with Maxwell’s splendid rendition of Al Green‘s “Simply Beautiful” being the first to do so in August.
Tyrese’s last trip was in 2015 with his single “Shame,” which spent 16 weeks at the top of the chart and was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
Elsewhere on Billboard, “Wildflower” peaked at No. 22 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 14 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
Per Mediabase, at R&B radio, “Wildflower” stays in the lead for a second straight week.
“Wildflower,” a tribute to Tyrese’s late mother, was released on Aug. 16 as the third single from his return album, Beautiful Pain.
The album also features earlier singles “Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me” and “Love Transaction,” and includes collaborations with fellow R&B and soul acts such as October London and Tamar Braxton.
Released Aug. 30, Beautiful Pain is the follow-up to Tyrese’s 2015 album, Black Rose, which topped the Billboard 200 upon release.
Tyrese is currently touring with his TGT members, Tank and Ginuwine, on the R&B Forever Tour alongside Bell Biv DeVoe.
R&B group Silk is the supporting act for the remaining dates. Find out where TGT and Bell Biv DeVoe are stopping next at rnbforevertour.com.
