Tinashe and Urban Outfitters Tease New Dance-Inspired Collection
Tinashe and Urban Outfitters, a global lifestyle brand founded in 1970, will unveil a new collection in 2025.
According to the company, the collection of lifestyle designs merges Tinashe’s passion for fashion with dance and street-style culture.
Tinashe designed and curated the collection in partnership with the company’s in-house design team.
According to the announcement, the untitled collection — details of which are still to be revealed — “celebrates dance as a universal language and a form of self-expression for everyone.”
Discussing the partnership, Tinashe said, “I’ve always wanted to bring that creative and free dancer energy to apparel. I’m excited to finally bring this idea to life by designing specific items that you can move in and feel more creative than sports bras and leggings.”
Tinashe continued, “Growing up in a dance studio teaches you a lot about the intersection between exercise and fashion. I was always inspired by the way dancers would create their outfits, whether it was in ballet class pairing shorts and leg warmers or hip hop class where personal style is paramount.
Dancers have always had the best personal style in my opinion, deconstructing elements that accentuate their movement, is comfortable and durable, but most importantly showcases their individuality and swag.”
The team at Urban Outfitters is excited to have Tinashe join them in expanding their dancewear wardrobe.
President of Urban Outfitters, Shea Jensen, stated, “Tinashe brings an unmatched energy and perspective that perfectly aligns with Urban Outfitters. Our mission at Urban Outfitters is to fuel the next generation of individuality and this partnership with Tinashe will continue to build that momentum.”
Dmitri Siegel, UO’s Chief Brand, Creative, and Digital officer, added, “Our brand is a platform for artists like Tinashe to extend their creative vision into new areas and connect with their fans in new ways. We’re so excited to be working with Tinashe to create products and experiences that capture her unique blend of music, dance, TikTok culture, fashion, and self-expression.”
This upcoming partnership between Tinashe and Urban Outfitters strengthens their existing relationship. They previously collaborated in 2017 during the retailer’s relaunch of Juicy Couture.
Tinashe is gearing up for the launch of her new deal with Urban Outfitters while actively touring her latest project, Quantum Baby, the second installment of an album trilogy.
Quantum Baby features the viral hit “Nasty” and the latest single, “No Broke Boys.”
“Quantum Baby is about getting to know me on a deeper level,” Tinashe said. “It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put into a box, so the name Quantum Baby encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative.”
Tinashe’s Match My Freak Tour is making waves across North America and will continue until Nov. 25. Singer Raveena joins as a special guest.
