Summer Walker Announces Third Album ‘Finally Over It’

Summer Walker is gearing up for a musical return.

The Grammy-nominated singer has confirmed her third studio album, Finally Over It, is on the way via LVRN/Interscope Records.

Walker will launch her new era with “Heart of a Woman,” which she first teased on social media in August. Today (Oct. 11), Walker posted a video teaser on Instagram, showing her dressed in pink lingerie and sipping Don Julio Tequila as she listens to a voicemail from an estranged lover.

“Damn, you gotta do me like that? I was just helping my cousin with groceries. Hit me back when you can talk. I know you’re finally over it, but damn, let’s talk about it. I love you,” the mysterious man says in the voicemail.

After the message ends, Walker throws her glass to the floor, indicating she’s over his antics.

In her Instagram caption, Walker wrote, “Finally Over It. Call me before I change my number 4044766404 & presave Heart of A Woman now!”

A release date for “Heart of a Woman” has not been announced. However, as indicated above, the song is available for pre-save.

Finally Over It will follow Walker’s 2021 sophomore album, Still Over It, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album sold 166,000 equivalent units in its first week in the U.S. It became the first R&B album by a woman to debut atop the Billboard 200 since Solange’s 2016 LP, A Seat at the Table.

Additionally, Still Over It accumulated 201.1 million on-demand streams in its opening week, making history as the largest streaming week for an R&B album by a woman.

Still Over It included appearances by Ari Lennox (“Unloyal“), SZA (“No Love”), Ciara (“Ciara’s Prayer”), JT of City Girls (“Ex For a Reason“), and more.

Earlier this month, Still Over It became certified platinum by the RIAA for selling one million equivalent units, while its predecessor, Over It, was declared 3x platinum.

A few tracks from the album also received new RIAA certifications, including “No Love” featuring SZA (2x platinum). Songs like “Bitter (Narration by Cardi B),” “Throw It Away,” “Reciprocate,” and “4th Baby Mama” were each certified gold for selling 500,000 equivalent units.

Since releasing Still Over It, Walker has collaborated with several artists, including Ciara (“Better Thangs“), Ari Lennox (“Queen Space“), Jacquees (“Tell Me It’s Over”), The Weeknd (“Best Friends Remix“), Usher (“Good Good“) and more.

In 2023, Walker released Clear 2: Soft Life EP, the sequel to her 2019 EP Clear

The Grammy-nominated Clear 2 included features from J. Cole and Childish Gambino. The closing track, “Agayu’s Revelation,” was produced by Solange, Steve Lacy, and John Kirby.
