The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards stage became the site of a high-energy collaboration as Shaboozey and Gunna united for a standout performance of their hit "High Noon." The appearance marked the first time the two artists have performed the track together for a live audience, effectively blending their distinct styles in a theatrical, Western-inspired setting.
The stage design transformed into a rugged saloon, where Shaboozey initiated the set with "Cowgirl." The scene was filled with thematic elements, including card players and dancers, culminating in a staged bar fight. The atmosphere shifted dramatically when a "Wanted" poster featuring the artist was dropped onto a table, signaling the transition into their joint effort, "High Noon," as Gunna made his entrance from a black carriage. The performance concluded with a literal blaze, as the saloon set was engulfed in flames.
"Cowgirl," which was introduced at the ceremony by reality television personality Ciara Miller, currently holds nominations for Best Country and Best Cinematography. The track serves as the second single from Shaboozey’s fourth studio project, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, released this past July. Crafted by producers Sean Cook and Nevin Sastry, the song has achieved significant commercial success, reaching the Number 11 spot on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart.

Following the VMAs, Shaboozey continues his momentum with the ongoing Outlaws Never Die Tour. The headlining run is scheduled to conclude on October 27, with upcoming performances slated for major cities including New York, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia before a final hometown show in Los Angeles.
