Russell Westbrook Left $8K Tip for NBA Bubble Housekeeping

Russell Westbrook was feeling generous when exiting the NBA bubble at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando.

Although his team lost in the finals, the Houston Rockets player left an $8,000 tip for the housekeepers.

“Only @russwest44would be able to truly confirm this, and I doubt he will, but I’m told that he left a $8,000 tip for the Grand Floridian housekeepers when the @HoustonRocketsleft the NBA bubble. Moreover, I’m told, he left the room virtually spotless,” Dallas Morning News‘ reporter, Brad Townsend, tweeted.

Westbrook confirmed the news with Taylor Rooks but didn’t “disclose the amount.” “Spoke to Russ Westbrook. Confirmed he left a generous tip & thank you letter to housekeepers in the bubble. He didn’t disclose the amount “They took great care of us. Took the time and energy to do their job at a high level. That was the right thing. I like to do the right thing,” she tweeted.

The NBA bubble served as a home for ball players for the last few weeks after a Summer hiatus in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Right befoew the season returned, Russell Westbrook revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus.

“I tested positive for covid-19 prior to my teams departure to Orlando.  I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared.  Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support.  Please take this virus seriously.  Be safe.  Mask up! #whynot,” he said at the time.

After the final game on Sunday, no positive coronavirus cases were reported inside of the bubble. Seemingly making it an operational success and proving the benefits of quarantining and social distancing.
