Rapper, Graffiti Artist FOOT4MAYOR Shot And Killed In Brooklyn
During the deadliest weekend in NYC of 2020, Brooklyn based rapper and legendary graffiti artist FOOT4MAYOR BME was shot and killed while washing his car in front of his home in East New York, Brooklyn. He was 35 years old.
On Saturday around 11am, FOOT, whose real name is Kenneth Singleton, was washing his Chrysler 300 when a gunman approached him from behind and shot him in the head and neck. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
FOOT4MAYOR was the 18th person to suffer from a gunshot wound since Friday in NYC. On Friday, a 27 year old man was shot and killed in East New York, not far from where Singleton was killed.
FOOT is best known for his legendary artwork on the streets of ENY, particularly his signature foot print, which can be found in all corners of NYC, even appearing in the background of HBO’s early 2000s’ Brooklyn Girls Fight Club.
FOOT was also the founder of BME(Biggest Movement Yet), a collective of Brooklyn rappers, including Handsome Balla, whom he teamed up with on several tracks, including “BME Warriors”.
Additionally, the “Mayor Of East New York”, as Singleton was affectionately known, took his graff fame and artistic acumen to the world of fashion and launched his own clothing line called “Foot Wear”.
Mourners gathered outside of Singleton’s home Saturday night where he was killed to pay their respects and remember their fallen friend.
The Source Magazine/The Northstar group sends out deepest condolences to FOOT’s family and friends.
