Oprah Winfrey Donates $10 Million to COVID-19 Relief Fund
Chef Jose Andres and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot joined forces with Leonardo DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs, and Apple to launch America’s Food Fund to help feed local communities. Oprah Winfrey pledged to donate $1 million to this fund in addition to another $10 million to Americans cities across the country and the area she grew up in.
During Oprah’s conversation with Chef José Andrés and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot this week for her series “Oprah Talks COVID-19” on AppleTV+, the mogul was impressed by the organizers doing the groundwork and committed $1 million as apart of her $10 million.
Guided by the intention of supporting those in need, the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation (OWCF) supports organizations around the world. Since 1993, OWCF has contributed millions in grants and donations to organizations that serve children, families, and communities, with a specific focus on youth education.
