Nick Cannon’s Upcoming Talk Show ‘Postponed’ After Controversy
Nick Cannon’s upcoming daytime talk show has been postponed after controversy this week surrounding comments he made that many people felt were anti-Semitic.
The news of the postponement was announced in a joint statement from Lionsgate and Debmar-Mercury. According to the statement, Cannon’s talk show will not air this year.
“After conversations with Nick, we do believe that his public comments don’t reflect his true feelings and his apology is heartfelt and sincere,” the statement read. “We want to continue the healing process as he meets with leaders of the Jewish community and engages in a dialogue with our distribution partners to hear their views.”
The statement went on to say that Lionsgate stands by Cannon and they hope by fall 2021 “he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten and unite his audience on the ‘Nick Cannon’ talk show.”
Late Thursday night, cannon fired off a couple tweets which had some people questioning his mental state. In the tweets, Cannon said that not only were white people condemning him for his comments but black people as well. “Enjoy earth” he added.
