Mario’s ‘Space’ Debuts on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay Chart

Mario makes a return to the Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart after a six-year absence.

The Grammy-nominated singer’s latest single, “Space,” launches at No. 20 on this airplay chart, led by Mary J. Blige‘s “Breathing” featuring Fabolous this week.

It marks Mario’s eighth chart entry since his first appearance in December 2004 with “Let Me Love You.”

The platinum-selling hit, co-written by Ne-Yo and Scott Storch and produced by Storch, reached its peak at No. 2 on this chart. During the week of March 5, 2005, it was held off from the top spot by Fantasia’s “Truth Is.”

“Let Me Love You” appears on Mario’s sophomore album, Turning Point, released Dec. 7, 2004.

Mario last appeared on the Adult R&B chart in 2018 with “Drowning,” taken from his album Dancing Shadows. The R&B/pop-infused track debuted at No. 30 and reached its peak at No. 28 after five weeks on the chart.
