‘Law & Order: SVU’ to Have George Floyd and COVID-19 Storylines in Forthcoming Season

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has seemingly been on the air forever. How do you keep it fresh? Draw from reality. That’s exactly what will go down as Olivia Benson and crew will tackle the death of George Floyd and the coronavirus pandemic in future episodes.

According to The New York Post, executive producer Warren Leight hit the TV’s Top 5 podcast and revealed that the current events will serve as storylines.

“There are ways, we will find our way in to tell the story,” Leight said. “Presumably our cops will still be trying to do the right thing but it’s going to be harder for them and they’re going to understand why it’s hard for them.”

The show is also underground changes to make sure that it has “fresh voices, different voices.” Those details were not specifically disclosed.
