Khalid’s ‘Sincere’ Lands Top 10 Debut on Billboard’s R&B Albums Chart
Khalid’s third album, Sincere, secures a top 10 position on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart in its opening week.
The album bows at No. 2 on the chart, with SZA’s SOS holding the top spot for an 83rd week and 87th overall.
With Sincere, Khalid tallies his fifth top 10 entry, following Scenic Drive, which debuted at No. 8 in December 2021.
Khalid’s previous best on the Top R&B Albums chart is American Teen, which bowed at No. 3 and later reached No. 1, holding the top position for 16 weeks. His 2017 debut album has spent a total of 285 weeks on the chart.

Elsewhere on Billboard, Sincere opens at No. 11 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, No. 43 on the Billboard 200, and No. 83 on the Canadian Albums.
According to HitsDailyDouble, the El Paso, Texas, native’s new project sold 17,380 equivalent units.
“Adore U,” produced by Digi and Justin Lucas, appears for the first time on Billboard’s R&B Digital Sales chart, debuting at No. 10. It also re-enters Hot R&B Songs at No. 19 this week. It previously peaked at No. 10.
“Adore U,” which has over 17 million Spotify streams, is regarded as “one of my favorite records” by Khalid.
“It delivers a melancholic experience filled with ethereal melodies and soulful vocals setting the tone for my upcoming album that I can’t wait for my fans to experience,” he explained about the track.
Further, “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” the first single from Sincere, reappeared on Hot R&B Songs at No. 16 this week. The track, which samples Alicia Keys (“Unthinkable [I’m Ready]”), debuted at No. 8 and later peaked at No. 6.
Sincere was released Aug. 2 via Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records. The 16-track album is Khalid’s first studio album of new material since 2019’s Free Spirit, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, driven by the hit singles “Talk” and “Better.”
Khalid explained, “Sincere is a combination of my life experiences; it takes inspiration from conversations that I have had with my fans, supporters, and the people that love me.”
“When I listen back to this project, I hear a sound that’s so unique and represents me at my best. This album is me at 26, continuing to evolve with the knowledge that I have garnered throughout the years.”
