Kanye West Qualifies to Appear in Oklahoma Presidential Ballot
Kanye West isn’t ready to throw in the tile just yet for his Presidential bid.
Ye filed with the Federal Election Commission and unfortunately qualifies to appear on Oklahoma’s presidential ballot, the Associated Press reports.
This news comes hours after reports claimed the unpredictable Hip Hop star was no longer in the race because he failed to file the paperwork.
But according to a spokesperson for the Board of Elections in Oklahoma, Kanye met the deadline and paid the $35,000 “Statement of Organization” filing fee. The FEC Form 1 was filed under Kanye 2020, listed a Wyoming address, and BDY (Birthday) Party as the affiliated third party.
There’s no telling if this is just a publicity stunt, but Ye filed a Statement of Candidacy on Thursday, which is filed when a candidate spends more than $5,000 in campaign activity.
Although he was approved for Oklahoma, Kanye West missed the deadline for several states and he has a bunch of requirements to meet.
