Kanye West Announces Decade-Long Partnership With GAP Clothing
According to several confirmed news reports, music mogul and fashion designer Kanye West has recently secured a ten year long partnership with Gap Clothing brand.
A press release from West’s Yeezy brand also confirmed the collabo, stating, “Under West’s creative direction, the YEEZY design studio will develop the new line to deliver modern, elevated basics for men, women, and kids at accessible price points, with the creative process just getting underway. Additionally, West’s design vision will extend to unique YEEZY GAP expressions in GAP stores and digital channels over time.”
It was reported that the partnership was inked for ten years, however, both companies have the option to renew after five years. “This new partnership will introduce both the GAP and YEEZY brands to new audiences,” the brand wrote.
Yeezy has his own intimate history with the GAP, working in one of it’s mall stores in the Chicago area when he was a teenager. Ye also redesigned their classic logo with his own “YZY” lettering in the navy and white insignia.
“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the GAP family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” Mark Breitbard, Global Head of GAP Brand, said in a statement.
The collaboration is set to debut on GAP.com and in GAP stores in 2021.
