John Legend to Deliver Inspirational Album ‘Bigger Love’ on Juneteenth, Calls it His ‘Best Work’

The whole world is combating the coronavirus pandemic, meanwhile, the Black community is trying to survive through two pandemics. But John Legend plans to spread a Bigger Love with the release of his album on Friday.

The upbeat, Afrobeat-inspired title track was released in April and gives fans a glimpse of what we’re about to hear. ” ‘Cause we got a bigger love // Won’t ever give it up // We got a one-way ticket love // We ain’t going no place but up.”

The video above featured clips of fans dancing while practicing social distancing.

“I put so much love and heart and soul in this album,” the singer tells USA TODAY. “I feel like people need a lift right now.”

The album features Rapsody, Jhene Aiko, Koffee, and more.

This collection marks his seventh studio album and most of the material was written last year. Although it seems perfectly timed, the songs were inspired by his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

John Legend is scheduled to go head-to-head with Alicia Keys during a highly-anticipated Verzuz battle in celebration of Juneteenth. Are you tuning in?
