Joe Jackson’s Granddaughter, Yasmine Jackson, Says She was Stabbed 7 Times in Racially Motivated Attack
On Sunday (May 31), Joe Jackson’s granddaughter, Yasmine Jackson, took to Instagram and shared that she was a victim of a hate crime — a racially charged stabbing that took place near her Las Vegas home. She revealed that she was stabbed seven times.
“I was stabbed 7 times right by my house because “I’m a nigger”. This woman chased me down and started stabbing me,” Yasmine started her Instagram post. “She said it’s because I was a nigger and that’s all I could hear while I was being stabbed.”
A medical professional, Jackson says the attack has dismantled the mobility of her neck and has now developed a fear for loneliness. She revealed crying out for help as she was being attacked and no one came to her rescue. The attack did not end until, Yasmine wrote, “a few people” finally came to her aid.
“I can’t move my neck at all. I’m scared to be alone. I asked people to help me because she was stabbing me and nobody helped. Until someone did, actually a few people did & I am thankful for you.”
The attack did not steer her away from her Black pride as the working nurse declared that she is proud of her genetic makeup.
“Oh & btw I’m still fucking proud to be black,” Yasmine declared in her post.
According to Yasmine’s post, the assaulter, a non-black woman — as it has not been revealed or confirmed if the woman is a caucasian or not, was charged with a felony battery with a deadly weapon.
“They only are charging her with a felony battery with a deadly weapon. I feel like she deserves attempted murder and also this is a HATE CRIME. SHE CALLED ME A NIGGER & THERE ARE WITNESSES ?? SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE PLEASE!!!!!!!”
Yasmine’s mother, Joh’Vonnie Jackson also shared the news of her daughter’s attack highlighting Yasmine’s duty as a nurse saying how she was undeserving of the attack.
“Look what this Woman did to my daughter @yasminejackson_ she tried to kill my daughter for being Black,” Joh’Vonnie wrote. “My daughter has a good heart and has dedicated her time as a nurse to help others. She did not deserve this! Fuck anyone who has enough hate in their heart to want to do this to anyone!”
According to Metro, Joh’Vonnie Jackson was born in 1974 to the late Joe Jackson and a woman named Cheryl Terrell. She released a book titled Bastard Child where she delved into her childhood and relationship with her famous Jackson siblings.
In an update under the post on Tuesday, Yasmine says the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has booked the assaulter for attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and hate crime.
