Chrisette Michele’s New Single Finds ‘Home’ on Billboard Chart

Chrisette Michele has achieved an entry on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with her new single “Home.”

The celebratory tune debuts at No. 30 on the airplay chart, which tallies the “most popular songs ranked by Adult R&B radio airplay detections, as measured by Mediabase and provided by Luminate.”

“Home” is the Grammy winner’s first ink on Adult R&B Airplay since “Strong Black Woman,” which peaked at No. 27 in March 2018. The song is featured on her album, Out of Control, which was released that same spring.

Before that, Michele made an appearance in late 2016 with “To The Moon,” another moderately successful single, peaking at No. 20. The track is featured on her Milestone album.

“Home” is Michele’s 17th entry on this airplay chart. Her chart career started in March 2007 as a featured artist on Nas’ “Can’t Forget About You,” which peaked at No. 40.

Michele’s debut solo entry began in June 2007 with “If I Have My Way,” reaching No. 4 that fall. Her highest-charting single to date is “A Couple of Forevers,” which reached No. 2 in August 2013.

The former track is taken from Michele’s debut album I Am, while the latter hit is from her 2013 album Better.

Home” was independently released Aug. 1. The return single served as Michele’s first song release in four years, with “Wait” in 2020 as her last.

Speaking on the new single, Michele said, “The upbeat, horn-filled, soulful tunes will put a smile on anyone’s face. The new lyrics came straight from heaven to my heart.”

She continued, “My hope is that people will feel the joy I feel in my heart and sing along. There’s been enough heartbreak. Pain is just a season; it’s not forever. I finally feel ‘At Home’ on the stage… I’ve waited for this feeling for a long time.”

In August, Michele began her Chrisette Michele Is Home Tour. The tour will resume on Nov. 7 with upcoming stops in Oakland and New York, as well as dates scheduled through January 2025. For a full list of tour dates, visit chrisettemichele.com.
