Chris Brown‘s latest fan-favorite, “Residuals,” has risen to No. 10 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart this week.
Per Billboard, the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart highlights “the week’s most popular songs, ranked by radio airplay audience impressions based on monitored airplay compiled by Luminate.”
“Residuals,” produced by Eric Hudson and Blaq Tuxedo, extends Brown’s lead as the R&B artist with the most top 10s on the list, with 57.
The R&B megastar also is the second artist with the most top 10s on this chart, right after Drake, who has 86 at the time of publication.
Here are the top five artists with the most top 10 hits on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart:
- Drake, 86
- Chris Brown, 57
- Lil Wayne, 49
- Nicki Minaj, 36
- Jay-Z, 35
Brown’s recent hit is his third top 10 appearance on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart this year, following “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay, and Tee Grizzley’s single “IGAF,” on which he and Mariah The Scientist featured.
In March 2024, the Afrobeats-tinged track peaked at No. 4 on this list before reigning for seven weeks at the top of the Adult R&B Airplay chart. Meanwhile, Brown’s feature with Grizzley and Mariah The Scientist reached No. 7 in late January.
More Billboard chart news surrounds Brown’s “Residuals.” The beloved hit advances to No. 15 on the Rhythmic Airplay list after four weeks.
Before gaining heightening acclaim, “Residuals” achieved significant success on various charts, including:
- No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs
- No. 4 on R&B/Digital Songs Sales
- No. 9 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay
- No. 15 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs
Furthermore, “Residuals” has reached No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100, remaining his 118th entry on the popular singles chart.
According to Spotify, “Residuals” has accumulated over 35.5 million streams to date. Although there is no official music video on YouTube, the visualizer has garnered over 20 million plays.
“Residuals” is from Brown’s 11:11 (Deluxe), which is the extended edition of his 2023 album, 11:11. The new version was released on April 11 and includes 13 new songs plus the 22 songs from the standard edition.
Additionally, the deluxe features collaborations with Mario, Bryson Tiller, Davido, Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas, and Tee Grizzley.
11:11 (Deluxe) had a surge in streaming and sales, propelling the original version to No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart from its previous position at No. 13. This was based on 24,732 equivalent units, as reported by HitsDailyDouble.
Back in November 2023, 11:11 initially debuted at No. 1 on the Top R&B Albums chart and also entered the Billboard 200 at No. 9.
