The Game’s ‘The Documentary 3’ Is Officially In The Works, Special Release Date Planned
New music from The Game is on the way. The Compton, Calif., rapper confirmed the news during a recent appearance on the Tacos & Shawarma podcast by revealing The Documentary 3 is officially happening — and it even has a targeted release date.
“I’m definitely gonna start the new album and I ain’t told anybody that. But yeah, The Documentary 3, I’m gonna go in hard and I’ma drop it the same day that the other one dropped,” the 44-year-old wordsmith said on the pod, confirming its release date.
He also acknowledged the high expectations fans will have for the release, adding, “I’m up for the challenge. It’s gonna be tough.”
The Documentary, which is largely regarded as his magnum opus, was released on January 18, 2005. It houses several of his most well-loved hits, including “Hate It Or Love It,” “How We Do,” and “Westside Story.” The 18-song LP boasted features from Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Faith Evans, Busta Rhymes, Nate Dogg, Tony Yayo, and Marsha of Floetry. The series would then continue with The Documentary 2 in 2015 and The Documentary 2.5 the following year.
In related news, The Game recently confirmed that he is currently expecting his fourth child. During the same podcast episode, the “100” rapper spoke about his updated views on parenting.
“It’s going to be a different parenting experience than when I was young. When I was young, I was still hardheaded, still in the streets… I don’t know how I even made it to this point in my life doing the things that I was doing, but I made it. My kids are all fine, smart, straight A students and good, so it’ll just be interesting to parent at this age,” he said.
