SZA Hints New Kendrick Lamar Album Is On The Way

SZA‘s latest social media post has added to whispers that suggest Kendrick Lamar may be gearing up for an album release in 2025.

On Sunday (Oct. 13), the R&B songstress shared a tweet posted by producer and TDE affiliate Devin Malik on her own Instagram Story, which declared that a new album from Lamar is imminent.

Malik’s initial tweet, which was posted last Monday (Oct. 7), included footage of Lamar rapping lyrics from his massive hit single, “Not Like Us.” In addition to the clip, Malik wrote, “mood cause new k dot album otwwww,” increasing speculation that a new body of work from Kendrick is currently underway.

The follow-up to his critically acclaimed project Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, which dropped in May 2022, Kendrick’s supposed new album has yet to be confirmed, as there has been no official announcement by Lamar himself.

However, industry insiders have recently hinted that new music from the rap star is in the pipeline and that he’s been spotted in the studio working on new tracks.

In addition, the Grammy Award winner recently turned down a headlining gig at the upcoming Coachella music festival amid reports that he’s planning a major “stadium tour” across the nation and beyond.

Riding high off the heels of his victory over fellow rap star Drake and their epic war of words, the anticipation surrounding Lamar’s rumored album is palpable, with fans and critics alike speculating on potential features and collaborations.

More insights regarding Lamar’s next musical endeavor could be revealed during his upcoming headlining performance during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in February 2025, which was announced last month.

As the hip-hop community eagerly awaits more concrete news, one thing remains clear: Kendrick Lamar’s next project is poised to be a significant moment in music, and fans will be watching closely as 2025 approaches.
