Snoop Dogg And Death Row Records Inks Massive Publishing Deal With Reservoir Media
Snoop Dogg has struck a massive partnership with Reservoir Media that will include the rap legend’s own discography, as well as that of Death Row Records.
Under the deal, Reservoir Media will oversee the domestic publishing for Snoop’s entire catalog of hit records and future musical releases. This includes works such as his seminal 1993 solo debut, Doggystyle, the hit singles “Beautiful” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and Missionary, his forthcoming collaborative album with Dr. Dre.
In addition, Reservoir Media will also manage the publishing arm of Death Row Records, which holds the rights to many of the label’s most popular hits including “Hail Mary” by Makaveli, “I Ain’t Mad At Cha” by 2Pac, and “Picture Me Rollin’” by 2Pac.
Snoop Dogg expressed his excitement in teaming up with Reservoir Media to place he and the label’s catalogs in trustful hands. “I’m so honored to have them as a partner and excited for all the great things to come with the catalogue as well as new music ventures,” the 52-year-old said amid the announcement of the deal. “2024 and beyond,” he added.
Donna Caseine, Reservoir Executive Vice President, Global Creative Director, spoke on the company’s decision to join forces with Tha Doggfather. “Legendary artists only need one name. Snoop is part of that echelon. From music, to brands, television, and film, his acumen represents excellence,” said Caseine.
“For the last three decades he has been a pillar of hip-hop music and popular culture. He helped write Death Row Records into music’s history books. It is an honor to support Snoop’s vision as an artist and work with the Death Row family alongside Jaslin Levy, Sabriya Dublin, Sara Ramaker, and their entire team.”
Snoop Dogg acquired ownership of Death Row Records in 2022, spurring the iconic label’s relaunch. He is the latest Hip-Hop artist to enter a publishing deal with Reservoir, joining the likes of Mannie Fresh, Offset, and rap label Tommy Boy Music.
