Rich Homie Quan’s Family Releases ‘Forever Goin In’ Posthumous Album

Rich Homie Quan‘s first posthumous album has arrived. Officially released on Friday (Oct. 4), Forever Goin In features an abundance of new music and featured artists. The project was announced to fans of the deceased rapper on social media hours before its release.

Along with the previously released “Song Cry,” which dropped at the end of September, Rich Homie Quan dropped over 30 new tracks with guest verses from Skilla Baby, Lil Tjay, 2 Chainz, Plies, Sukihana, and more.

“34 listed songs ironically that’s the age I…” shared an Instagram caption on the Atlanta rapper’s account announcing the work. “bonus 1 extra, because tomorrow will forever be a celebration! My GIF[T] to my Fans.”

During an interview, the rapper’s father Corey Lamar, who also worked as his manager, revealed that a collection of unreleased tracks exists, explaining that they had just completed a 20-25 track project before his death.

“Quan had probably over 2,000 unreleased songs,” he detailed per Rolling Stone. “But once he gets in a mode to record, those songs become old to him. And when they become old, he wants to focus on the new stuff. He has a catalog in the vault. He has a ton of music that the fans need to hear.”

Rich Homie Quan died on Sept. 5, 2024. He was found unresponsive by his girlfriend Amber Williams. After she called 911, he was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital by paramedics, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The responding officer elaborated in the report, “While on scene, I did not observe any foul play. Mr. Lamar did not appear to be alert, conscious, or breathing. Ms. Williams advised me that Mr. Lamar did not have any medical or underlying diseases.”

The official cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose. A combination of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine in his system. THC was also found in his system, but it was not included in the drugs that caused his death. The report also noted that his body did not show any signs of trauma.
