Nicki Minaj Threatens To Cancel Her Upcoming ‘NM6’ Album And Tags JAY-Z…Again

Nicki Minaj dropped a bombshell via X on Wednesday (Oct. 15), announcing that she’s “not going to put out” her upcoming 2026 album NM6.

“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now [JAY-Z],” she wrote while tagging the Hip-Hop mogul.

“Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”

She added that Roc Nation had “come begging” for her to do a tour and album. “They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ.”

The “Everybody” rapstress also used the moment to taunt JAY-Z about his Times Square casino being declined by the Community Advisory Committee. “It was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinoooooooooo,” she quipped.

Minaj has been sending shots to JAY-Z over the last few months, with one of her biggest claims being that he owes her up to $200 million tied to her equity in TIDAL.

Upon the music streaming app’s arrival, Minaj was one of 15 artists gifted a three percent stake in the streaming platform at its 2015 launch. After the company’s 2021 sale to Jack Dorsey’s Square for $302 million, Minaj says she was offered only $1 million for her share.

“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest,” she wrote at the time. “You still in my TOP 5 tho.” She also noted that any recovered funds would go toward her #StudentOfTheGame initiative, aimed at covering tuition and student loans for fans.

The rapper’s posts have also targeted Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, accusing both her and Hov of sabotaging aspects of Black culture while claiming fans blindly support them.

She formerly wrote, “Dear #JayZ & Desirat, You ruined hiphop, You ruined football, You ruined basketball, You ruined touring, You ruined instagram, You ruined Twitter. The jig is up. All of this is alleged & for entertainment purposes only.”

Minaj later questioned JAY-Z’s political record, saying, “So lemme get this straight. Yall so called black savior #JayZ has a Hispanic CEO who was pardoned by President Trump?!!!!?!?! Hmmmmm interesting… Could it be that yall have all been hoodwinked? lol. WOO WEE.”

The global star continued her scathing critique of the Blueprint icon calling out his lack of public campaigning during the presidential election.

“That was so kind of President Trump. And that was so kind of President Obama to passionately go out & campaign. But what did Mr. Jigga man do to help yall win the election????” she asked. “Is it just about who can benefit him & Desirat at the time???? Oh black ppl it looks like the Jigga man & Desirat played yall once again. LMFAO. The jig is up.”

Her issues with Jay also overlapped with her recent online exchange with Cardi B, during which Minaj posted AI-generated images of JAY-Z. She posted a photo of Jay in a pink wig, as well as images of him as a camel.

Amid all the drama, Minaj had fans excited for what would be her sixth studio album after she teased its “3.27.26” release date on X, but now it may not be happening.

“Nicki take a break from social media and heal,” suggested one fan on X. “you’ve got a lot going on. You went from being the bully to playing the victim. Sometimes silence says more than tweets ever will.” Another fan reassured her, “We riding with you no matter what. Forget the music.. what else you selling?”

Her last project, Pink Friday 2, dropped in December 2023 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The record solidified her as the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums ever.
